The translation firm Colist is certified according to the international quality standard DIN EN ISO 17100.
The quality standard ISO 17100 is an international standard for translation service providers. The standard specifies competences and qualifications for all aspects of the translation process.
If you order a translation according to ISO 17100, then your document to be translated is processed by two independent translators including revising.
Regarding qualifications, every appointed translator has a degree in translation from a higher education institute, or a degree in another course of study plus two years of full-time work experience in translation, or five years of full-time work experience in translation.
In addition, the translators have relevant professional competences (research competence, cultural competence, translation competence, linguistic and textual competence, technical competence and subject area competence).
As a first step, the first translator carries out the translation and then checks their own work. After that, an additional translator checks the text including comparison with the original text and carries out the proofreading.
